How we protect your restaurant’s data

A practical summary of the technical measures that protect each restaurant’s information in Ember. If you’re missing a detail for your review, write to us.

Isolation between restaurants

Each restaurant is fully isolated from the others. The catalog, sales, billing, settings and kitchen orders are all tied to that restaurant, and one account never sees another’s data. Diners who join a table are linked to that restaurant when they enter.

Accounts and access

Access is controlled with signed sessions that expire on their own. Passwords are stored encrypted, never in plain text. Each team member has a role —admin, floor or kitchen— and can only use that role’s features.

Data in transit

All traffic between the browser and Ember is encrypted (HTTPS). The site and the app sit behind a global protection network.

Backups

We make automatic backups of your data every day and keep them in a private place. Backups are not public and are not shared with third parties.

When the data never leaves your venue

With Ember Local the database lives on a PC in your restaurant and daily operation does not depend on the internet. You control where the data is and how it is backed up.
